  • Course CS100 Florida Law (5 hours) This course teaches the Florida State Laws and regulations, governing the field of cosmetology.
  • Course CS101 Sanitation and Sterilization (55 hours) This course teaches. the proper way to sanitize implements and reviews the types of bacteria. Also covers the chapters in Milady on sanitation and disinfections.
  • Course CS102 Chemical Waving and Relaxing/Straightening (95 hours and 65 Services) This course teaches techniques and chemistry of perms. It also teaches about processes and techniques in applying a relaxer and straightner
  • Course CS103 Hair Shaping/Cutting (140 hours and 75 services ) This course teaches how to perform a haircut and achieve the desired style. It also teaches the proper way to hold combs, razors and shears.
  • Course CS104 Hair Arranging (290 hours and 300 services) This course teaches shampoo sets, blow dry, pin curl, up-do, and thermal styles. It also teaches product use and safety.
  • Course CS105 Scalp and Hair Treatments and its Disorders (40 hours and 45 services) This course teaches scalp manipulations and hair treatments. It also teaches the structure of hair and the disorders that can and cannot be treated by a cosmetologist. Covers also product use and safety.
  • Course CS106 Hair Color (200 hours and 45 Services) This course will teach the techniques in hair coloring, chemistry of hair color and classifications of hair color. Also, product use and safety.
  • Course CS107 Shampooing and Rinses (65 hours and 50 services) This course teaches techniques in shampooing and rinsing the hair, it also covers product use and safety.
  • Course CS108 Related Anatomy/Chemistry (120 hours) The chemistry composition of hair and molecules are taught in this course. Also structure of the head and face.
  • Course CS109 Facial/ Skin Care/ Hair Removal (65 hours and 20 services) This course teaches facial massage, chemical treatments and cosmetics, skin types and make-up application. Hair removal teaches the safe way to wax and tweeze the hair on face and legs. also cover product use and safety
  • Course CS110 Manicure/Pedicure/Nail Extensions (100 hours and 20 services ) This course teaches how manicure, pedicure, and perform a nail extension. Proper sanitation of implements and how to set up manicure table is included. It also covers product use and safety.
  • Course CS111Aids Education (4 hours) This course teaches the cause of HIV and AIDS.
  • Course CS112 Salon Management (1 hour) This course teaches sales skill and relations in business.
  • Course CS 113 Ethics (20hours) This course teaches professionalism in the work force. Personal improvement, client confidentiality and honesty are also taught.
  • Teaching Methods : The course is presented through lesson plans that are well developed and reflect the newest educational methods. Subjects are presented thru lectures, student participation, and demos. Guest speakers, field trips and audio-visual aids are all used in the course.
Description :
Course is 1200 hours to satisfy Florida State Law requirements. The course includes intensive theory and practical experience in cutting, color and perms. It also emphasizes sanitation, laws and regulations, ethics, salon management, job interviewing, retailing and personal motivation. Upon graduation student receives a diploma.
Purpose:
To provide a quality education that prepares the student to pass the state board exam, and receive a License. To teach students who are prepared, confident and ready to have a successful career in the beauty industry.

Evaluation Methods:
Students must receive 75% or better on all exams

1200 hour mock state test. This test will cover all phases of what is to be expected on the state board exam.

Florida State Law Requirements:
Florida law requires students to have 1200 hours of training and graduate with a diploma from a licensed cosmetology school to qualify for an initial cosmetology license. After graduation, students are required to take a State Board Practical and Theory Written Examination before receiving their Florida Cosmetology License. This license is protected, but must be renewed every other year. The State Board gives these examinations and there is a charge.
Grading: A score of 75% to 100% is passing. 74% and below is failing.

Course: Facial and Skin Care Specialty

  • Course SC202 Hair Removal (30 hours and 30 Services) This course teaches the correct method of hair removal. The products used and where you can and cannot remove hair. It also covers product use and safety.
  • Course SC203 Facials and Skin Care ( 85 hours and 40 services) This course teaches cell, skin tissues, and proper practices when doing a facial or skin care service.
  • Course SC204 Related Anatomy/Chemistry (70 hours) This course teaches anatomy of the body, organs, systems, and the chemistry composition of skin and it molecules.
  • Course SC205 Aids Education (4 hours) This course teaches the cause of HIV and AIDS.
  • Course SC206 Salon Management/ Professional Ethics (11 hours) This course teaches sales skill and relations in business. It also teaches professionalism in the work force. Personal improvement, client confidentiality and honesty are included.
  • Course SC207 Make-up (15 hours and 5 Services) This course teaches how to apply make-up and how to minimize and maximize facial features. It also teaches how to sanitize make-up implements.
Description :
This course is 260 hours to meet the Florida State Board Requirements. It includes training in facial manipulative skills, waxing and make-up. Developing proper work habits and the competency for entry-level positions as an Esthetician, Make-up Artist or any related career. Upon graduation student will receive a diploma.

Students must maintain an average of 75% on theory tests and pass a final written and practical exam before graduating. All missed tests and assignments must be made up.

  • Course NS302 Acrylic Applications (70 hours and 40 Services) This Course teaches how to sculpture a nail, how to use forms, how to apply product and shape the nail. It also teaches wrapping and mending on artificial and natural nails. The course teaches artificial nail removal. Nail art is also included
  • Course NS303 Manicures and Pedicures (50 hours and 25 services) This Course teaches how to manicure and how to pedicure, proper sanitation of implements and how to set up stations. It also covers product use and safety
  • Course NS304 Nail Extensions (25 hours and 30 services) This course teaches how to apply tips, properly shape the tips and apply the overlay.
  • Course NS305 Nail Disorders Related Chemistry (65 hours) This course instructs in nail theory and diseases of the nail. It also covers related subjects.

  • Course PM504 Related Anatomy/Chemistry (5 hours) This course teaches the chemistry composition of skin and it molecules
  • Course PM505 Micro-pigment Application (19 Hours and 5 services) This course teaches how to safely implant pigment in the eyes and eyebrow , product knowledge and contraindications thru audio-visual aids and hands-on application.
  • Course PM506 Aids Education (4 hours) This course teaches the cause of HIV and AIDS
Description :
This course is 40 hours and covers the law, sanitation, skin care, hair removal, and specific techniques related to careful, safe application of permanent makeup to the eyes, lips and other body parts. Also included are related anatomy/chemistry and aids education.
Program Objective:
To provide a quality education in individual and group hands-on and theory training in applying permanent make-up and receive a diploma. It also prepares the students to have a successful career in the industry.

Evaluation Methods:
Students must maintain an average of 75% on theory tests and pass a final written and practical exam before graduating.

Grading: A score of 75% to 100% is passing. 74% and below is failing.

Course: Hair Braiding

  • Course HB600 Florida Law (5 hours) This course teaches the Florida State Laws and Regulations
  • Course HB601 Sanitation and Sterilization (5 Hours) This course covers the correct way to sanitize and sterilize implements, reviews the types of bacteria and covers the Milady chapter on sanitation and disinfections
  • Course HB602 Milady Braiding Techniques (23 hours and 10 services) This course will cover the different braiding techniques and styles in the Milady book.
  • Course HB603 Aids Education (4 hours) This course teaches the cause of HIV and AIDS
  • Course HB604 Diseases and Disorders (2 Hours) It teaches the structure of hair and the disorders that can and cannot be treated by salon personnel. Covers also product use and safety.
  • Course HB605 Salon Management (1 hour) This course teaches sales skill and relations in business. It also teaches professionalism in the work force. Client confidentiality and honesty are included.

This course covers state law, sanitation, related anatomy/chemistry, hair care, scalp and hair disorders, aids education, ethics, and specific techniques to braiding short, medium, and long hair. Upon graduation student will receive a diploma.
