Disciplinary Procedures
The Artistic School of Nails & Cosmetology, Inc. reserves the right to revise these disciplinary Procedures at its sole discretion, as so revised, these disciplinary Procedures shall be then applicable to all students, whenever enrolled. All proceedings shall follow due process and be conducted in good faith and in a fair and reasonable manner which allows the student a reasonable and meaningful opportunity to be heard. A student may request an appeal in writing from the Director for a re-evaluation of any disciplinary action recommended.

Grounds for Disciplinary Action include:

  1. Failure to comply with Satisfactory Progress Policy and maintain a satisfactory academic level.
  2. Failure to comply with Standards of Conduct.
  3. Failure to make up to date payment of tuition and fees.
  4. Failure to attend all classes or unexcused tardiness (as outlined in the attendance policies and to make up class hours for any excuses absences within the designated time frame.
  5. Use of alcohol or illegal drugs on campus or to attend while under the influence of same.
  6. Disruptive or harmful behavior toward fellow students, faculty, staff or school property.


All matters regarding disciplinary action are coordinated by the Director. Unless the disciplinary action requires immediate withdraws, after grounds for disciplinary actions are determined, the Director shall proceed as follows:


STUDENT RESPONSIBILITES

Each student is personally responsible for all information contained in this catalog. The information contained herein should be read carefully. If a student has any questions regarding the school's policies and procedures, they should contact the Director/Program Coordinator. Artistic School of Nails & Cosmetology, Inc . will make every effort to answer these questions. Failure to read and understand these policies and procedures does not relieve a student of his/her responsibility or the consequences. Any policy changes will be kept on file in the director's office and will be posted in the school library and distributed to all currently enrolled students.

Students are encouraged to make constructive suggestions to the faculty and the Director's Office regarding policies and procedures and academic curriculum. Artistic School of Nails & Cosmetology, Inc. is committed to providing the best education available and recognizes that the student input should be taken into consideration in the academic and policy decision-making process The school asks that the students take time to make their concerns heard, whether in person, or through instructor and courses evaluations. However, needless complaints of policy or actions of staff or faculty is not professional and must be addressed directly to the Director in a professional manner.

Artistic School of Nails & Cosmetology, Inc. considers the classroom as a serious learning environment. The school requires that you dress in a comfortable but appropriate manner. The school requires that you wear an approved lab jacket, scrubs or appropriate clothing while working in the school.


Continuing Education

Throughout the school year, the school offers students, graduates, and other qualifying individuals in the health-care workshops, lectures and seminars. The particular programs offered are to be announced.


Placement/Referral Service

Potential clients frequently call Artistic School of Nails & Cosmetology, In. for referrals. The school provides these callers with updated graduate's names, phone numbers and techniques offered. Although the school does not guarantee employment , the school maintains and "Employment Opportunities Board" in the library. Potential employers and the qualifications required are posted and continually updated. The school also has a referral relationship with many employers in the health care field and members of the medical community. Students and graduates who posses the skills these employers are seeking, are provided with a letter of recommendation and a referral.

  • July 4
  • Memorial Day
  • 1week at Spring Break
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Weekend
  • 2 weeks At Christmas
  • New Year's Day
  • Presidents Day
  • Good Friday
  • Easter Weekend
  • Martin Luther Kings' Day


FULL TIME STUDENTS

(40 hours per week is required for Full Time Students)

Monday Thru Friday:

Saturday: 10:00-2:00 All students work on the clinic floor doing practical on mannequins, each other and clients.


PART TIME STUDENTS
( A minimum of 20 hours per week is required for Part Time students)

Grading System & Examinations
:
The grading system will be as follows: 97-100%=A, 96-87%=B, 86-80=C, 75-79%= D and 74% and below is failing. Examinations will be given for each theory subject for both full time and part time students as they complete their appropriate level. Students must satisfactorily complete each level by passing 75% on each level test. Retests for those students with grades under 75% may be taken to complete the program, provided service work; attitude and attendance have been satisfactorily maintained.


Make Up Hours:

Full time and Part time students, with prior permission or in the case of personal emergency, may make up absences, leaves and tardiness. All make up classes will cost each student $7.00 per make up hour.
